Chic Ironlight Lake Oswego Wedding
I was so stoked when Carly and Kyle reached out to me to capture their multicultural Ironlight Lake Oswego Wedding! Everything came together for a truly stunning day as they gathered their friends and family for a celebration in Oregon. This couple put so much intentional thought into how they wanted everyone to experience this chapter of their love story, and the joy was palpable all day long.
Their Story
Carly and Kyle met through a mutual friend at a New Year’s Eve party. From there, their bond was strengthened across many seasons of tennis. Kyle’s favorite memory is when Carly first met his niece and nephews and how seamlessly she seemed to fit into his life. Carly’s favorite memory is of their first Christmas together when they attempted night of the 7 fishes together. They spent the whole day getting ingredients together and spent the night cooking and watching movies, they were able to keep their own traditions alive while making their own along the way.
The Proposal
Since they were dating throughout the pandemic, when Kyle proposed he had to get a little creative. After months of working from home and wearing pj’s 24/7, Kyle told Carly that they were going to a work party on a Friday night. So after she got nice and dolled up, he instead popped the question at home in front of their Christmas tree with their dog nearby. It was so sweet! Then they split a bottle of champagne and went to their first date spot for dinner, Piazza Italia, followed by drinks. The next day, he planned a tennis mixer with their team and then invited their friends to their favorite brewery for an engagement party. What a thoughtful guy!
The Wedding Day
One of my favorite things about this multicultural Ironlight Lake Oswego wedding was how intentional Carly and Kyle were with every aspect. They incorporated Colombian food and desserts, hired the Duo Con Brio strings, and even made sure to hire and support BIPOC vendors that they found through the Vendors of Color Directory (make sure you check it out, I’m a co-founder)! I love to see it.
