Norway Elopement at Aurlandsfjord

Some weddings feel grand. Others feel deeply personal. This Norway elopement at Aurlandsfjord somehow managed to be both.

Malina and Nick chose Norway because it’s where his family is from. His grandfather still lives there, and the trip became something bigger than just a wedding—it was a chance to reconnect with extended family and celebrate their love in a place that held real meaning.

Their elopement took place on September 20, the first day of fall, in a small fjord town framed by dramatic mountains and serene water. The weather was moody and overcast, perfectly cinematic, and the rain held off the entire time.

A Bride Who Knows Her Way Around a Camera

Malina, a talented photographer herself behind Malina Rose Boudoir, approached the day with a clear vision and a deep appreciation for the experience of being photographed.

She looked every bit a princess in her gown from The White Dress by True Society, paired with playful heels from Betsey Johnson. The look was romantic and effortless—perfect for wandering through a quiet Norwegian town before exchanging vows.

Wandering Through Aurlandsfjord

One of the joys of a Norway elopement is the freedom to truly experience the surroundings.

We explored the charming streets of Aurlandsfjord, taking in the dramatic fjord views, wooden houses, and quiet corners that felt like time had paused. Eventually, we made our way down to the fjord itself for the ceremony.

Vows by the Fjord

With misty mountains rising behind them, Malina and Nick exchanged vows in a hand-fasting ceremony, symbolically tying their lives together. The moment was intimate, heartfelt, and perfectly suited to a Norway elopement.

A Joyful Dinner Celebration

After the ceremony, we returned to town for a relaxed dinner. Laughter, storytelling, and heartfelt conversation filled the table—a reminder that the simplest celebrations often feel the richest.

This is the magic of an elopement: a day defined by love, meaningful rituals, and the place that matters most.
