When I first laid eyes on Shaelyn as she was getting ready at Cape Kiwanda for her elopement I knew I was in for a real treat. She made an absolutely stunning bride in her Rue de Seine gown and I’m not even exaggerating when I say that she was literally turning heads everywhere we went. Then I saw Blaine and I was just blown away by what great hair was in front of me. Y’all make one beautiful couple, is what I’m saying.
Here’s some elopement tips and insight in their own words as written by Shaelyn;
What was your favorite part of your wedding?
My favorite part was the time we spent just the two of us (and our lovely photographer and videographer). Having him hold my hand as we climbed sand dunes and crawled under fences was the easiest, most natural part of the day.
Is there anything you wish you’d done differently?
I love our family….but… I would have stripped it back to the basics and would have only incorporated Blaine and I. Our attention was sometimes diverted to the comfort and happiness of others and I wish we would have known how to be a little more selfish.
Do you have any advice to give anyone who’s planning a wedding? Anything you wish you’d known going into it beforehand?
When making decisions keep it simple. It all comes down to celebrating a day with the person you love most. Anything that takes your focus away from that probably isn’t worth it.

I first met Ling of Ling Wang Photography at Ben Sasso’s Heck Yeah! Workshop in Joshua Tree National Park a little over a year ago. We spoke briefly and maybe introduced ourselves but didn’t really keep in touch since then. Luckily for me, my roommate Katy Weaver (whom I also met at Heck Yeah!) did…
