Elegant Harry Potter Herbology Themed Wedding
On a scale from 1 to 10 when Marich told me she was planning a Harry Potter themed wedding my excitement went to 9 3/4. She didn’t want anything too nerdy or over the top, so she opted to keep it more Herbology Class themed. She was inspired by the wide open windows and industrial feel that the Black Pearl has that gives the impression of being a green house. With some added mandrakes and Quidditch goal posts along with other beautiful and subtle details that only a nerd would find (it’s me, I’m that nerd) the whole aesthetic came together beautifully! See if you can spot all the details, from the Monster Book of Monsters to the Acromantulas…. and don’t forget the Flying Ford Anglia!
In their own words:
We met in our high school choir. Mack sat behind me for 3 years. Other than pleasantries we didn’t know each other very well. A few years after high school I had moved back to Vancouver after a stint living in San Diego (coincidentally where Mack grew up until moving to Vancouver during high school), we ran into each other at Costco. After an awkward run in, asked mutu friends for my number to apologize for an awkward handshake. From there we chatted more about how our lives had changed from the last time we had seen each other and set up a time to hang out as friends soon after. After our first date playing videos games at ground control and people watching while eating at Theo’s, we kept in touch and hanging out as friends turned into dating exclusively. After joyful times and laughter, career changes, family emergencies, and lots of tacos from lucha libre in SD we will be getting married on our 7th anniversary.
What's your favorite memory of each other?
My favorite memory of Mack is spending sunny days in San Diego eating tacos at rockin baja, flying kites in Coronado, and laughing at stupid situations we find ourselves in. My favorite memory of Marich is when we were driving home from doggy daycare with my parents puppy. Right there I could see the future with her.
When did you know they were the ONE?
I knew Mack was the one when he said some thing stupid and I laughed for 10 minutes straight and he laughed with me. My favorite memory is when I knew Marich was the one.
How did your fiancé propose?
On March 7th after a long night helping family I was opening the keypad for the garage door Mack had said my name quietly and I turned around and saw him on one knee. Mack said, I wanted to whisk you away to somewhere beautiful but the timing hasn’t worked out and I couldn’t wait any more and asked me to marry him. I couldn’t believe it at first during to fatigue but I said yes and he slipped beautiful solitaire on my finger. The next question I asked was if it was a blood diamond which he assured me it was not.
What are you looking forward to most for your wedding day?
We are looking forward to finally being married and seeing all of our loved ones.
