French Cinema Inspired Engagement | Markie & Mehran

Markie and Mehran wanted to do something a little different for their engagement session. Inspired by French Cinema, we wandered through the streets of Downtown Portland stopping at quintessential Portland landmarks such as the Ace Hotel, Stumptown Coffee, and Powell’s Bookstore. Early on I told them what we were creating was more of a collaboration, less styled and posed and more like creating a scene out of a movie. We were inspired by the cinema, the intimacy and romance captured in French films from which I took a few choice captions to fit the scene, creating our own little screen captures of their date-day in Portland. We ended their session decked out in leather motorcycle jackets in front of the Kelly’s Olympian neon sign and vibrant red motorcycle.
